Youve changed the wording, and thus the meaning.

The question is, if you're alone in the woods would your rather cross paths with a random bear or a random man?

There's no stuck in the woods, trapped in the woods, lost in the woods, injured in the woods. None of that. You're just in the woods.

The bear is just a random bear going about it's bear business living it's best bear life. It's not hunting you, chasing you, attacking you, trying to eat your face off, or acting violent because it's a vicious predator. Other than polar bears, bears are omnivores that eat mostly plant material, bugs, and fish. They're never going to look at you and automatically see dinner.

The random man is not an average man you see out in public. He might be and there's a good chance he is. But then we come down to what kind of woods we're talking about and what's he doing there because unlike the bear, this is not his natural habitat.
