You cannot have equality of marriage and have a dominance hierarchy at the same time. It's not possible. Complementarian doctrine is based on a hierarchy of dominance. It cannot exist without it. Therefore, if you believe that God wants equality in marriages based on a partnership model so both partners will be happy and fulfilled, you must reject complementarian theology as a false interpretation of scripture. Otherwise, you're being a hypocrite and are stuck in cognitive dissonance. They both cannot be true.
