You’re wrong here too.

Toddlers are going to throw the occasional tantrum, that’s all part of it. They can’t emotionally regulate. The best thing a parent or anyone else can do is to ignore them. If you respond in kind, they generally escalate. You teach emotional regulation by exhibiting it, not flying off the handle yourself.

This has nothing to do with white supremacy. Plenty of parents of color also regularly ignore their children’s tantrums.

Responding as you suggest is one sure way to ensure those toddlers don’t outgrow their tantrum stage quickly and continue to throw them through school age and even into adulthood.
