You’re stumbling over some misconception of legal terms here and using them to judge him a criminal because he’s an addict. This is bias on your part.

Based on what I’ve read, the investigation was about whether or not Hunter Biden used his relationship with his father while Joe Biden was serving as Vice-President for financial gain in a manner that led to breach of public trust and malfeasance of office on the part of Joe Biden. This falls under the high crimes and misdemeanors aspect of inappropriate dealings and possibly impeachable conduct. It does not indicate criminal conduct on the part of Hunter Biden.

Burisma can pay Hunter Biden whatever they deem appropriate as a salary for any job or consultation. It may raise eyebrows, but it is not criminal. Just like, you can tip a waitress $50. You get to decide. It’s not criminal, nor does it indicate that she is beholden to meet you in the alley for further service, though some people may raise eyebrows at that $50 and think so.

Further, even if he introduced Burisma businesspeople to his father with the intent of greasing political wheels, there is no inappropriate behavior or criminal conduct until Joe Biden acknowledges the intent and understands what’s going on, agrees to it, and actually acts to grease the wheels. The criminal conduct belongs to Joe Biden in that evemtuality, not Hunter Biden. Just like me asking you to dose a racehorse with a mild tranquilizer or relaxant prior to a race. I can ask all day long. There’s no criminal conduct unless you agree to it, you know it was to hedge gambling outcomes and not to help the horse with an anxiety problem so it doesn’t hurt itself coming out of the gate. You have to be a willing participant to the criminal enterprise to be criminally culpable.

There was no evidence after a thorough investigation of Joe Biden acting inappropriately. The “damning” emails amount to little more than Hunter playing off his last name. But any emails from Joe Biden deal with nothing more than a father comforting his son.

Again, I can tell you I have access to the crown jewels if I’m related to the Queen of England all day long. Doesn’t make it true. It may make me a liar, but that’s not a crime. It’s also not criminal on the part of Queen Victoria if you’re dumb enough to believe it and pay me an eyebrow raising consultant fee in the hopes of capitalizing on it. It makes you a dupe who didn’t do his homework.
