A lot of your writing breaks down the man as hunter myth which they are deeply invested in, even though most of it makes no sense whatsoever.

They react because their entire ego and sense of identity around being a man is tied up around being provider and protector.

It they aren’t that, then what are they? They can’t handle the question to their id.
