You're not invisible. They see you there.

The other side of this is that men don't notice when they're being checked out because women aren't brash and over obvious about it. You may not want the women who show you interest so you just don't see it. That's common amongst men.

Lastly, it's natural in public to keep an eye on what's going on around you. That's called situational awareness. It's not always about fear of being raped etc. In fact, it's usually not. It's about being in a smaller body, keeping an eye on your kids, watching the flow of traffic. For me it's mostly about avoiding street harassers. They're not goinf to rape me, but I have been followed several times down the steet. These guys are generally one or more of the following: drunk, high, homeless, mentally ill. This is about them making sport out of me and/or my dog because they're bored. Or about them flipping out because they can't emotionally regulate thanks to not being medicated or self medicating inappropriately.

Two weeks ago, one of these guys started throwing rocks at Jupes and me for having the audacity to walk down the street.

That's the sort of shit I have an ever present eye out for, for the most part.

I have zero interest in dating.
