You're falling for a misogynistic narrative put forth by men looking to dodge accountability.

It doesn't make other women look bad.

Outside of what the other commenters have said, let's not forget that it is very hard to get a rape conviction and the statute of limitations is 5 years. Most DAs have no interest in pressing charges on rape cases like E Jean's.

Most rapes are coercive rapes where the the woman is lured and then subdued without enough force or violence having to be applied so that the rape is obvious to anyone with eyes to see. As you know, shame and silemce manipulation are relies upon to keep the victim quiet.

In a criminal trial, the defendant must be doind guilty without a reasonable doubt. That's almost impossible under the circumstances of most rapes.

A civil trial, though, swings upon most credibile liklihood of events. Because there is no possibility of incarceration in a civil trial, the penalty is financial.

So it's not about these women looking to get money. They still have to win the trial to get the award and they're out legal fees until they do. It's a risk. Further, winning the award is not the same as collecting the award. The court ends its involvement after the verdict without another suit.

I'll remind you that he's already in deep financial trouble. There's no guarantee she will see that money, and if she does see some, that she will see it anytime soon.

Ergoz the award is about assigning wrong doing, defining the level of harm caused by the wrong doing, and being punitive enough to discourage any further behavior because the behavior is unlikely to result in incarceration.

Do you think the plaintiffs against Alex Jones were just out to get money?

How about the families who sued the cigarette industry? Were they just out for an easy score?

What about the folks who will inevitably sue over the recent train derailment in Ohio? I mean, once the cancers start showing up? You gonna say they're just out to make a buck to make other Ohioans look bad?

Then why do you let butt hurt men convince you the motives of rape victims are any different? Why should you be believed, when you yourself refuse to believe other women?

See how that works? See what they did there?

You're smarter than this.
