You're assuming she paid for the toys. Plus, toys are relatively inexpensive. Being able to afford a $20 toy doesn't mean you can afford $13000 hospital bill, larger rent for a bigger domicile, higher grocery bill, infant accoutrements, lost work hours, etc.
