Your entire argument against Bette Middler hinges on the assumption that she sees Transwomen as separate from the broader category of women. It’s like saying trees have leaves somehow magically excludes maple trees. Which also have leaves. Obviously.

You have no basis to make that assumption based on the tweet alone. Women’s rights are being attacked. All women are in the cross hairs. Cisgender heterosexual women, Transwomen and LGBTQ women, pregnant women, WOC, all of us. ALL.

I think you’ve exposed the fact that you don’t believe Transwomen to be "real" women, not that Bette Middler does.

When someone says "Women of the world unite", you know if that applies to you or not. If you find that call to arms objectionable it’s because you’re the one having the problem.

If Transwomen are women, then using the more general term "women" by default includes Transwomen, which is a type of woman.

Likewise, using the term pregnant women does not marginalize or negate Transwomen because pregnant woman is a type of woman too, it’s just not a permanent state of being.

Terms like birther, breeder, menstruators, person with a vagina are dehumanizing. These terms are slurs.

I think you’ve let down Better Middler by villifying her falsely than she has let down her fans.

Your article here was incredibly disappointing.
