You think teachers don't harm kids? Or yell at them? Teachers are racist toward some kids, out others, sexually assault, refuse to help, harass, humiliate, degrade, cut hair...the list goes on. They come to work drunk or high, I remember that.

Walter Rhein, a Medium author wrote an article relating to his time in school where a teacher threw a kid and desk (kid sitting in desk) down a stairwell.

Almost all teachers make this claim because being anti-homeschooling is job security.

I'm going to point out that the majority of homeschooling kids I have known, outside the religious fundamentalists, are intelligent, well spoken, literate, thoughtful and mindful, willing to learn, creative and industrious, independent thinkers who can take initiative. They're very content and happy, ask sharp questions, are insightful, and easy to get along with because they've been socialized for all age groups and dynamics rather than just there age cohort.

Many of the recent high school graduates I've the unfortunate pleasure of dealing with can churn out limits and differential equations but they can't count down a till, balance an account, figure the cost of inventory, tell time from an analog clock, check for food safety, figure out how to turn on a pressure washer and hook a hose to it because they can't read and follow the instructions, etc. They can barely tie their own shoes and they think they're too good for menial jobs or providing customer service, even as a resume builder or gaining experience, or spending money for the summer.

It might take two years to know how to teach. But kids are educated for 12 or 13 years, not counting college. Having a learning curve doesn't equate to a poor outcome in the end.

And private schools are no better. Those kids just buy their grades, like Donald. A product of private institutional education.

Given the staggering levels of children coming out of the educational system, both private and public, unfit for modern life and modern work, barely literate, unable to handle basic math skills they need in their actual life, unable to communicate effectively, high strung and nervous as a jolted cat....it's pretty rich for anyone, especially teachers to make the spurious claim that parents don't know what they're doing and are incapable of teaching children.

Neither do you teachers. Or your fancy schools.
