You, Some Guy, said, and I quote,
"and they had to be above average to get respect."
The implied dynamic here is that the men did not have to be above average to get respect. They just had to do the job at a basic minimum of competency, follow directions, and get along with everyone.
But the women had to be above average.
So I ask again, why the grudge fest from you men withholding respect? Why do women have to jump through extra hoops, meet a higher standard in order for you men to give them some basic level of respect that you men give each other for the very basic bare minimum of not being a total fuck up?
What else would you call it, other than being some kind of way about your manhood and holding out respect as some kind of joint deep seated grudge?
Is it love?
We've already established it's not respect.
Is that how community kinship works in your mind?
Is it neighborly, fellow employee trust? Can't be that because you're undermining the company's hiring decision by putting your feelings over policy and their right to build whatever team they want.
What is it then, if it's not hate?
