Interesting observation about doms and subs. If I had to guess, I'd say there were a lot more women Doms than what one would expect. They don't even know themselves. When you've been trained to be passive and submissive and pleasing your whole life, finding yourself with a penchant for being the spanker and not the spankee can be a rude awakening. True for lesser extremes of the kink too. And it's hard because men have been conditioned the opposite. There are a lot of naturally submissive men out there who cannot internally sit well with their submission. They can't allow themselves to fully submit so they'll know some internal peace and happiness.

Men seem to fantasize about a sexually aggressive woman a lot but when they get one they freak out. For them, it's something that's best kept as a fantasy because they can't handle the reality. I think the same is true with women and male Doms. BDSM romance novels do very well for a reason. But most women would feel abused in an actual dom/sub situation for two reasons. Internal conflict and most men like to play act at being dominant as an act of gender performance but they're laughably bad at it. It's all about them. They could never really fit in that role well. Usually the more chest thumping they are, the more ridiculous them being an actual Dom is.
