You know, odd names have always been around and a recurring trend.
Years ago, it was all about Bible names. You had names like Prudence, Chastity, Solomon, Hezekiah, Rebekah, etc. But the trens wasn't just historical Biblical names or concepts, anything that can be said to have a Biblical origin or inspiration could be a name.
Like Sangreal, Jericho, Zillah, Abbandon, Serenphina, or Nahum.
During the last half of the 19th century, something like 65% of names or more were part of that Bible trend.
So this current trend will die down sooner or later too. Then it will be something else and it will follow the same patterns.
May even be seeing the beginnings of the next trend, which is giving your child and common object or adjective as a name, like Apple or North or Blue.
