You know Heston was actually president of the NRA?

Yeah, for over a decade. He stepped down sometime around 2005; I can’t remember exactly.

Having him, a beloved and renowned celebrity, in that position gave credence to a lot of the 2nd Amendment pushback against gun control efforts.

So that was an effective move from the gun manufacturing industry. I mean, since the position is largely ceremonial.

And all those lives become but dust in the wind of rhetoric.
