Let's just say his attack here doesn't say much for his business acumen.

You don't retire your winning horse to pasture and you don't let them be mishandled by bitter and jealous jockeys and caretakers. You lead with them.

I've read a good deal of your back catalogue from before, even all the way back to all the relationship titles. Your writing was so well done, laid out and flowing really good (something I struggle with myself), and resonated so strongly that I actually went and looked for more of your work. Even now, when I can't find anything else to read and I have time to read, I'll go through your back catalogue. There's less than 5 Medium writers I do that for.

I'll happily follow you on Substack. I won't leave Medium as there are other writers like to read as well. I do think it's interesting though, that several writers I regularly read are expressing their own frustrations with the platform and the recent changes. They're all women too. Women who are high earners. Same complaints. And you're right. This was never a problem when it was male writers writing endless self help bunk and struggle porn. Stuff nobody else but the privileged can really relate to. That dynamic was allowed to play out with little or no interference until readers finally tuned out. So much for free market ideals, huh?

Maybe I will leave Medium. I don't want to support sexism. It's growing again, it doesn't need any of my help to do so. Something to think about the next few days/weeks.
