You keep throwing out "facts" like that means something on an opinion piece and you think you've got me there.

You do understand that Medium is not a journalistic only platform, don't you? And what that means?

She wrote an opinion essay. O-PIN-YUN.

In opinion pieces, you give reasons for why you believe what you believe, why you think what you think, etc. She did that, as I said, in blistering fashion. You can include facts and sources, but they’re not actually required to write an opinion. That doesn’t invalidate the piece. As an opinion, not everyone has to agree with it. It’s an opinion.

Maybe you need a refresher. These are opinions.

Doubting Thomas was the best Disciple. Beagles make the best pets. The Bills are going to win the next Superbowl. Soccer is just a weak man’s Rugby. Rattlesnake tastes just like chicken. This behavior makes Americans look bad on the International Scene.

These are opinions. They are not experiments, scientific laws, or commonly held facts based on established scholarly rigor.

Opinions. O-PIN-YUNS.

If understanding the difference between an opinion essay and a journalistic report or other form of written work makes me a narcissist, then sure. I’ll be your Huckleberry and you can continue being a dingleberry.
