If you're a woman, someone is going to tell you to shut up when you speak. It may be a woman. There are men who stand for equality and respect between genders. They're proud feminists.

Sometimes you use your "inside voice", sometimes you use your "scary bitch hag from hell voice". Both have their place. Just because someone is screaming, doesn't mean they're screaming at you, at men, at all men, or whatever. In a digital space, like it or not, screaming is a good way to discourage trolls. They're looking for attention, same as any whiny little child. You give it to them but in a way that either distracts the from the person they're abusing, a way that brings them embarrassment, or a way that deflects them away from adults conducting adult business and discussion.

If you want to sit at the adult table, you have to stop tossing your mashed potatoes at your cousins and generally being a supersized snot-nosed punk.

In other words, sxreaming can be tactical.

It can also be cathartic. Nobody loses their damn minds when somebody screams at someone or something after they're physically hurt. No, we recognize what's going on and don't take it personally.
