You blame them both for being good enough writers and bringing up points in a fashion that resonates with many.
The "echo chambers" you decry are not being formed or managed in any way by either one of these authors.
It's ludicrous to suggest they are. I'll add especially in the case of Elle Beau because she's no more of a tech person than you are.
**I'm not saying Katie is, I'm saying I don't know either way in her case**
Regardless, you're also conveniently ignoring the sad fact that any woman who does well anywhere will get a deluge or aggrieved and entitled men flooding their accounts with all manner of hate, petty and vindictive arguments, harassment, threats and threatening language, false reports, and any other manner of vitriol that may be thought up because he's unhappy with his lot in life.
And for some strange reason he thinks that's both the fault of all women and also our responsibility to fix.
There's a lot of talk about the toll of lonliness on men but once again, were choosing to ignore the toll of all this violence directed at women everywhere.
And it does take a toll.
So they block because as long as Medium is making money off of rampant misogyny, which it has, Medium has made a lot of money, then the platform will not enforce it's own rules to protect womeb writers from gangs of trolls.
And no mistake, this is the same predatory pack swarming behavior you see in rape gangs. And hyenas. And it's the same mechanism behind it too.
So yeah. In lieu of any better option, they block rather than deal with bad faith.
But by all means, let's whine and cry about about echo chambers rather than demand Medium keep the sandbox clean for everyone. Let's be apologists for accounts that are consistently and persistently proving over and over again that they're here to troll and harass in the name of "free speech" and "tolerance" rather than deal those proven bad elements who are doing what they're doing to make money too, regardless of the harm it causes someone else.
Yes. Let's keep perspective and frame what's clearly the most important. Blaming women writers for "creating" echo chambers, a.k.a. being a good writer.
