You and me both, Andrew. I see these fellow women and it's always pretty much a head scratcher. I don't get their thinking here and sometimes don't even have the first clue what the hell they're on about.

On the flip side, there's always other women, like myself, defending the coffee date for all the reasons you states and more, and even pointing out that not every woman even wants to be wined and dined all the time in the first place.

Some of us consider a day at the river fishing or going to a paintball place a better date for the most part.
