Yes they do. As a single mom I’d like to smack a few people myself for this.

But I can’t. When you’re a single parent, there’s no leeway to be violent for you or your kids. You are the only anchor for your kids. Ergo the kids grow up learning different ways to resolve conflict than violence.

The whole theory was and is just stupid on the face of it. The slightest application of common sense should have clued people in that there was something squirrelly there. Yet I STILL hear this nonsense.
