Yes. That island in the south Pacific. It was marginally inhabited (research facility or religious outpost ?) and then abandoned for the most part during WWII, because it couldn't be kept secure. It was something like 16 men and 1 woman elected to stay.

And yeah, they men fell to murdering each other and the woman tried marriage to to one after another to keep herself safe and eventually took to the jungle. She survived and a few of the men did (4, I think). Back home, she got 15 minutes of survivor fame and then got branded a prostitute.

Somebody who's more familiar with this WWII story, please full in the details. I'm not where I can look it up right now to refresh my memory and I can't remember all the specifics off the top of my head.
