Yes, it that's not traditional masculinity, it's a parody in the same way that bimbo is a parody of femininity.
See?
Bimbo might not be the best example because bimbo includes and is actually more driven by the extreme aesthetic. The visual representation of femininity, according to western standards. But the behavioral aspects are there too, the vacuousness/air headedness, the whoo girl lustiness, mean girl bullshit, etc.
If you look at the defining characteristics of masculinity, stoicism, control of ones emotions, logic, leadership, courage, strength from the Greek and Roman eras, its easy to see that behaviorally, were a long way from that.
Today masculinity is more defined as aggressiveness, domination, acquisition of wealth and status, emotional insensitivity,
and proving one's sexual virility constantly.
All peacocking stereotypes putting extreme sexual displays over all else. No substance. Dudebo. Or Brobo maybe. At the expense of atrophying everything that historically made masculinity so valuable and worthy of respect.
It's a lessening of manhood to show off to other men. Frankly, I'm being tired of being blamed for it for being a woman, single, a single mother, and a feminist.
Men are objectidying themselves, showing off; women cannot make more clear that they are generally repulsed by this ridiculousness. Taking a look outside shows this.
And Simon is pandering to this nonsense too, and giving validity to objective bullshit.
