Yeah, you're out of touch. The word has been around a good long while.

In English, it was used in 1871 in Spectator magazine. Made the Merriam-Webster dictionary in 1952.

The French version of the word, misanderie, was translated to the German version, Männerhass, in 1803.

So it's been around since the 19th century at least. Misogyny has been around for about two centuries more.

But neither were popularized until relatively recently (in language terms). That would be since the 1970s for misogyny and the last decade or so for misandry.
