Yeah. We had cloth diapers at home but I bought diapers for going out and for nursery.
I just never thought about making my own wipes at the time or I would have done it. Had it not been for diapers and wipes I think my cost would have been around $200 that first year. $75 of that was the portable playpen.
She was exclusively breast fed for about 6 months and then I didn't bother much with baby food either. Just mashed up what I was having, kept a part of it for her mostly unseasoned, or fixed mashed up fruits and vegetables. She did like guava baby food and a few others and I would have gotten her more baby food if she had eaten, but she spit most of it out so I didn't force feed her. As I recall we were pretty much sharing a plate by 10 months and still breast feeding (mostly) on demand until 2.5 years. Then she self weaned and got her own plate.
Her entire infancy I had one tube of butt paste to treat two or three mild cases of diaper rash, one bottle of those gas relief drops whatever brand it was which got used a handful of times, one tube or Baby Orajel for teething which got used once or twice. Didn't help. A damp washcloth knotted up and kept in the fridge was accepted, the teething ring was discarded. Yeah, she gnawed that washcloth pretty good. I fixed her up about 5 of them and rotated throughout the day.
That was pretty much it.
