Yeah, they're trying to stay safe or are willing to endure for a spot in heaven after death.

That helps explain some of the high levels of depression amongst women of the flock. Ive never known many that weren't functioning alcoholics or on anti-depressants.

They're just waiting to die. They hope they get lucky enough that the husband dies early enough that they'll have a few years of peace and quiet before they are rewarded.
