Yeah, there was a time when Trump would never have been the party nominee based on moral torpitude.

You don't put someone in the Big Chair of low moral character. It matters. People follow leadership, even bad leadership, and even knowing it's bad leadership. Your only hope of keeping the 'ship' of society stable is to not put people with certain moral failings at the helm. No ever.

And yes, before the Trump sycophants lose their shit, there most certainly have been Democratic representations of that. Bill Clinton comes to mind.
