Yeah, that's one of those things I actually sort of agree with the manosphere with.

Sort of, because it's not an absolute. It's not so much about the kid as it is that the kid throws it in stark relief. It's really lack of financial discipline and/or solvency and selfishness or being self absorbed. These people are helpless so they tend to gravitate toward and cling to people who seem to have their shit together, particularly if they are generous in nature and also have a low tolerance listening to people whinge on and on about problems that are easily solvable. That impulse to just fix it to get them to shut the hell up about it for 5 freaking minutes kicks in early.

But there's always an excuse for why they can't deal with their own shit. Or there's more shit.
