Yeah, okay, so the “you just hate conservatives” trope is way overplayed.

I think a lot of them are just brainwashed by Fox news and their warmongering Pundits. I want to deprogram them. Like an abuses spouse, they have my sympathy.

I think a lot of them vote that way because of habit and don’t realize that the Republican party has betrayed the values of good solid conservatives. For some reason, they can’t see that the Republicans worthy of their support have left the party and they should too. I hope they educate themselves.

I think a lot of them are in thrall to a demagogue because cultural change is scary, and they feel out of time with America’s heartbeat. It’s disorienting and he’s a pacifier. I feel sorry for them.

I think a few of them are just pathetic because they get off on the chaos he creates. They enjoy watching the county get smashed to bits. They’re putting on ritual paint in anticipation of dancing on bones.

I think a lot of them think Progressives just want everyone to get ice cream for free every day paid for by the govt, when really Progressives want a rebalancing of income inequities, roads instead of wars, healthy workers make healthy, strong economies, etc. The money is there, why can’t we spend it on ourselves for a while? How is that evil? Wouldn’t you rather spend a few million on a bridge in America so kids don’t drown in flash floods than a couple billion on military and munition support that leads to mass starvation of children? Yemen. I feel annoyed and a proclivity to roll my eyes.

I think a lot of them want a poorly defined ‘return to religion' and have been convinced by religious leaders that the ends justify the means. They seem to have missed the salient point that freedom of religion and right to bear arms only exists as long as America stands. So tearing the country apart to the point that half or more of the population cannot live with you will not get you want you want, so the ends don’t actually justify the means. I wish most of them would actually read their Bible instead of trying to thump everyone else with it. And take a good hard look at the middle east and what life under militaristic religion looks like. Do you really want American life to look like that? Then maybe find a better way than supporting someone who doesn’t even know how to hold the Holy Book right side up. He’s not been annointed by God. I’ll again refer you to the Book. There are marks on those chosen by God. Certain things happen, like Angel visitations, etc. I pity them for the kingdom they so desperately seek will be denies them. Jesus will not know them.

I think a lot of Republicans haven’t realized that the parties have shifted a great deal. This is not the first time this has happened. It probably won’t be the last. Republicans are no longer the fiscally responsible party. Check it out. Republicans are no longer the party defending the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. Republicans are now the corrupt party far beyond any corruption in the Democratic party. Republicans are the “States Rights” party now at the expense of what needs to be Federalized. I want to snap my fingers at them and say, “heads up! Pay attention!” You’re endangering yourself. You’ve fallen asleep at the wheel.

So, no, hating conservatives is pointless and not even the point anyway. Besides, Republicans are not a monolith any more than Democrats are.

I’ve always been politically Independent but I used to lean a lot more Republican. That’s changed, mostly for the reasons listed above. I can’t stomach their vision of a greater America. It’s not a place I really want to live. I could leave. But then, this is my home too. This is my child’s inheritance. I love my country for all it’s flaws as well as all it’s wonders. I’ll be damned if I just let it be burned to the ground.

I do hate Republican trolls though. Them I want to squash. Or maybe a nice evisceration. To be fair, I’m not overly fond of Democratic trolls either but they’re not really as bad as they tend to shy away from things like, “ you should be raped until you’re dead” or “this is why women shouldn’t speak, they’re too stupid to be allowed breath” or “my grandfather taught me to never trust an animal that can bleed for 7 days and not die” or “I can’t wait till Trump rescinds the right to vote for women and minorities — MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN”, etc. You get my drift.
