Yeah. Last night was surreal. More or less exactly as expected, but still surreal. Insane. Absolutely embarrassing and humiliating.
I disagree with some of your points about the happenings. I didn’t get that Biden said the Green New Deal would pay for itself. Wallace’s question was about climate change policy not specifically the Green New Deal. Biden has never supported the Green New Deal—hes been consistent and adamant about that. He has incorporated some parts of it into his policy though, he’s been consistent and upfront about that as well. It was Trump’s interrupting that suddenly made it about the Green New Deal.
They should probably call off the debates but they can’t really do that. For the next ones they need to do away with open discourse altogether and make sure they can mute the mics. You can only speak when it’s your turn to do so.
It’s clear that Trump is unable to control himself and will continue to act like a spoiled brat throwing a tantrum. Biden will continue to show poorly as long as he tries to deal with it in any other fashion than recognizing that fact and treating him accordingly.
The President behaves like a toddler who has just discovered he’s not the center of the universe. And he’s not happy about it. And he appears to be getting worse.
He also has the football. The world should be concerned. I know I am. This election could go either way.
I know you think it makes no difference and I get where you’re coming from. Things need to change on the global stage. But we cannot get to that until we fix this mess.
