Yeah, but being a psychopath, he pretty much hated everything and everyone, except maybe Ava Braun and definitely his own thought processes.

I mean he "hated" and was jealous of some of his generals too.

Maybe it's parsing semantics, but hatred is defined as an intense feeling of dislike. It's active, not apathetic. You have to care enough about someone to actively hate them. People who lack empathy generally have a hard time maintaining that level of intensity toward multiple sources. You know what I mean? They just don't care.

Trump is actually a fair comparison here. (Don't shoot me). He's also lacking in empathy. We can argue about specifics, is he a narcissist, is he a sociopath, is he a narcissistic sociopath, what have you. Armchair psychology aside, it's pretty obvious to a lot of people who have had unfortunate experience with similar people, there's something more than a little off about the guy.

We don't have to know exactly what. It's not just because he was elected President either, because way too many people didn't want him to be president becuse they already knew there was something off about the guy, including some Republicans. Lindsey Graham I one who comes to mind. Trump's been a public figure for years. You can literally pick and choose incidents of squirrelly shit over the years, fill a shopping cart, and still leave plenty for all the other shoppers. Know what I mean?

Anyway, nobody who assessed him as likely lacking empathy to a "clinical detriment" is surprised he turned on all the people he turned on, mocked his supporters, or cast aside his "foot soldiers" (referencing the Proud boys here and their recent expulsion from a Trump rally).

He holds everyone who is not being of some use to him in contempt. He always has. He'll sing your praises or use you if you have something of value. But when that's done, so are you. Guliani is another one of the most recent examples. But we all know, there's a long long line.

But, he doesn't hate these people. He doesn't think that much about them to hate them. They're just tools. Always have been. Always will be. It is and will be that way with everyone in his life. At best, you can mutually use each other. But there's no genuine care, compassion, or love for anyone. Donald loves himself. We are all props in the stage play of his greatness.

Hitler was much the same toward Christians. Did he hold them in contempt, derision, and scorn? Yes. Absolutely. Did he think they were stupid? You betcha. He gave up on God during WWI. Still, as long as they stayed out of his way, he didn't bother with them too much, at least till the war started going badly and the atrocities became too much for them to ignore. They were still of some use at best or maybe an unnecessary distraction from his goals, or a thorn in his side at worst.

Things like contempt, derision, and scorn are certainly negative. But they tend to come from a place of disgust and entitlement. They lack the focus, provocative rage, and intensity that is usually associated with hate. With sociopaths/psychopsths in particular, that focus really really seems to laser in on a narrow beam. Their hate spills out where that laser is focused. Nothing else is anywhere near comparable.

Hitler hated Jews. He wasn't going to stop until they were wiped
from the face of this Earth. And anyone who stood in the way could burn with them. Every one else was either useful or disposable but they never warranted the level of animosity aimed at the Jews.

I've seen lots of stuff like the content your link referenced over the years. Sometimes it's interesting. Lots of times it's speculative. Other times it's an out and out re-write. Hitler has become a legend in certain circles who have a vested interest in lessening or denying the horror of the Holocaust. In that vein, I think we should be extremely cautious to not give that narrative or agenda a foothold in our minds.

Our job is to hold the line against fascism so that insanity doesn't happen again. To anyone. Never again. ✊
