Yeah, as an individual...that's it.
But we don't exist just as individuals. We're part of a collective as well. We're citizens of communities, cultures, and nations.
And both those things can and do also exist side by side, sometimes at odds with one another in a way.
That's where I am with this. As an individual, I agree with what you said. As a citizen of a particular culture and nation, it's fucking embarrassing that these guys are doing this, that we've failed to check this entitled douchebag behavior, and that we're labor dumping that "check" on to marginalized, stressed, and vulnerable women and families in other nations and cultures.
It's both. We cannot just wipe our hands of it completely, even though, as individuals, there's little we could or could have done.
