Yeah, and you should be having these conversations. Lots of them.

Further, you should make a point to reject the language of them in all walks of life, even if you mean it differently than they do.

Because these guys have been up in the faces of women for so long with all that vitriol, hate, threats of violence, and harassment.... online has been particularly brutal, as has been the political sphere; we hardly see the rest of you any more. You might as well be in a different place (physically, like a different city) because you're not in the same place (mentally, where we have to live with these freaks) at all.

And since society has determined that our safety and ability to walk through the world unmolested and unharmed lands solely on us....

None of you get a free pass, automatic good will, the benefit of the doubt, whatever you want to call it. We can't afford it anymore. That was never an automatic or a given. It was dependent on a baseline level of good intent that is no longer present.

And that's on you guys.

For failing to hold your corner in upholding the integrity of the commons. We all have a corner to hold. When one corner drops, the others soon follow.

Y'all checked out and dropped the ball. So, more and more, we're not getting too fussed with you. We want less and less to do with you because that's increasingly becoming the only way we get any peace.
