Yeah, and you don’t know how your experience is going to go. It’s a total crap shoot.

I had a quintessential Gerber baby. Healthy, slept through the night from day one, not fussy, not colicky no tantrums …. can’t imagine how it could have been any easier.

My friend who was pregnant with me had a baby with chronic stomach problems, screamed 20 hours out of 24, highly sensitive, colicky, was impossible to get down for a nap, hardly ever slept … had my friend in tears at least 4 times a week. Really hard time starting out.

Things got better around toddler years, but infancy was really really hard.

My friend ended up with depression and an addiction.

And it was a total coin toss. It wasn’t anything one of us did that the other didn’t. Could just have easily gone the other way.

That’s part of the reality of motherhood.
