As scapegoats, feminists and Queer people are paradoxically portrayed both as social outsiders due to our immoral and ‘unnatural’ sexual and gender identities and resistance to tradition (hetero-patriarchy), and as elitist insiders, part of the upper echelons of society supposedly tearing apart the social fabric.
