Well that’s not true. We did not as a nation jointly decide to outlaw slavery based on morality. The nation split and we went to war. The slave side lost, otherwise slavery would have existed a lot longer, perhaps still. The Confederates were praying to God too and were good, God fearing, church going Christians.

Clearly, religion does not have as much to do with morality or the promotion of human rights as you claim.
