Well done. It’s become a rare treat to read a conservative article so well reasoned and that doesn’t demonize Democrats. It’s also become rare to see thoughtful self critique within either political party.

It would be great to see some real fiscal responsibility coming out of the Republican party. It hasn’t happened in my lifetime despite many promises, as Eisenhower was before my time. Looking back historically, I’m a fan of his administration for the most part. My grandmother was a campaign booster for Eisenhower and she gave me her "I like Ike” button.

I agree with you about McConnell. He needs to go. His behavior has not been an example of good and sound leadership. You have to work with the other party to get things done. 'All or nothing’/ 'My way or the highway’ types of thinking in government doesn’t serve anyone. In this case, it’s meant an absolute failure to check an out of control executive. Chaos and confusion. Failure to respond to a national emergency and the resulting economic downturn.
