We have been trying, but American worker unions have been undermined for decades now. They’re practically non-existent now and a lot of states are “right to work" states.

The way our politics is set up, corporations have much more clout than they should. Corporations are people, don’t you know. The Supreme Court says so. That basically gave corporations more government protection than citizens.

Corporations are buying politicians who then pass legislation that protects corporations at worker’s expense.

That’s a huge reason why efforts to push for more inclusion and safer working conditions haven’t been successful. It’s too hard getting around PAC money in politics.

For corporations, profit is more important than anything. Workers are disposable, and they’re not worth investing in.
