We both know this is a disingenuous argument so I’m not going to entertain it.
Marginalization can be by law.
It can also occur at a point of impact despite the law.
Beyond the framework of legalities, it can be social, cultural, religious, traditional, medical, financial, educational, and through employment.
The fabric of society is constructed of much more than the law. Marginalization can and does occur anywhere within the different threads of the weave. Anywhere you have one group in charge making all the rules for everyone else and those rules limit their autonomy, their ability to participate, their opportunities, their potential, and their lives.
Marginalization isn’t always from a mean spirit. It’s often out of ignorance.
Basically, until all voices are heard and carry the same weight, people will find themselves being marginalized in ways that are not always about legalities.
