Umm. No. You cannot outrun a bear. Running guarantees you will be mauled and probably killed.

If you were smart, you didn't enter bear country without bear deterrent.

Bears are not naturally aggressive usually, not like you see in movies.

Not that they can't be. Someone was mauled to death recently in bear country. You certainly don't want to mess with them or antagonize them.

If you're far enough away, back away slowly and don't look at them directly, but don't take your eyes off them either. Head for safety.

Other than that, you've got the same 4 choices that have always been there. Sometimes they work. Other times they don't. It's down to luck and circumstance really.
