Trump supporters tend to be either zealots or charlatans out for the financial reward of loyalty or access to the zealots to swindle.

There is no middle ground with zealots by their very nature and none with charlatans because middle ground can only be achieved when both parties come from and maintain a place of integrity and trust of no ill intent. Again, by their very nature, charlatans have no integrity and cannot be trusted.

Generally speaking, I agree with you about doing everything we can to maintain open dialogue. In the case of MAGA, I think it's more important to not waste time and energy banging our heads against the wall for some misguided notion of civility.

Can't say if that applies to your sister (?) or not, but it definitely applies to a great many of them.
