This piece packs a punch. It needs to be said though. We all know women like this and you're right about it being an unexpected confidence boost. Even if you don't really get off on it and sympathize, there's that moment of, "thank God that's not my life".

I appreciate the compassion you show to women trapped by that fear of being alone.
