Also about the bus driver, the phoneless kid might have been the one to notice the emergency but I'm betting a phoned kid is the one who called for help.

The phoneless kid is getting credit for saving the day but I'd the driver had a medical emergency, that means he needed immediate emergency care. Care that would have had to have been notified some way. Like, by a phone and a 911 service.

So yeah, this story is propaganda to push an agenda. It's squirrelly.
