This describes my family as well. Further, for where they mostly live in rural America, the two best things they can do to help all POC as well as themselves right here, right now is to protect and bolster the economy and to protect the vote. That’s why Trump went so hard attempting to delegitimize mail in ballots in the first place. But don’t think that propaganda wasn’t effective.

I agree with training to help people move away from rigid thinking and beliefs. It absolutely helps. That said, it’s woefully ineffective within ones own family for a lot of us. If you’re the black sheep (pardon the expression) within your family, no amount of training is going to change that fact. Your family will continue to dismiss whatever you have to say as you being a contrarian (again!) and nothing more. That’s lived experience too.
