I call bullshit on this. They could have asked the cameraman to pan elsewhere, yes even on a hot mic. They could have made a coded statement to the same effect like, "these two fans need to be left to eat their ice cream in peace before it melts. Wouldn't want being on the Jumbotron to cause havoc."

Something to that effect, not making an issue of their looks or the fact that they are women while doing it.
