They typically are. They may or may not be "raging misogynists" but you cannot hold gender essentialist beliefs without 'othering' the other gender. How many times do we have to see it before knowing where 'othering' leads?

They all talk a sly game. They dress that carrot up real pretty and enticing. But it's not free. The stick WILL follow.

And aince we use carrots on those we see as resources, the name of the game becomes to get more than what you give up. There can be no sustainability of love or good faith in those relationships. That's why so many of them fail.

Note, I'm not saying progressive relationships do not also suffer a high failure rate. I'm saying those tend to falter under different dynamics and strains.
