They think it's weak. They equate it to showing their belly.

And then they wonder why women are disconnecting from them in droves, not even trying any more.

But why would they? It's been clear for a long time that you'll get more affection from a dog. Hell. You'll get more affection from a cockroach than some of these guys.

It is, as you say, profoundly sad.
