There's value in this approach. There's also value in the opposite.
The more something is repeated, the more normalized and accepted it becomes. So ignoring misogynistic attacks makes them acceptable.
I do think you get more milesge out of not defending yourself and your own opinion, but protecting each other. These dudes tend to swarm after all.
The latest rise in misogyny seeems to be correlates to the rise of fascism here in the states. Maybe now is not the time to not redress it. Fascism depends on misogyny to take root. Nobody gets to shelter away or sit on the fence on this one.
We do need to be more effective though, than one on one with trolls gets us. We also need to be more selective about the ones we challenge.
That's my two cents anyway. Appreciate your perspective though.
