There’s such an anti-capitalist sentiment out there right now, you’re likely to get roasted. Been in the same boat myself with some comments on anti-capitalist articles. People can’t seem to make a distinction between you saying ‘we have a problem with corruption that needs to be addressed so that we have a fairer, more balanced economy. But it’s not as bad as you’re making it out to be.’ and 'capitalism is king. All bow before unchecked greed. Socialism is pure evil, just look at Venezuela.' (As though Venezuela were the only socialist country in the world. As though Venezuela’s problems are ONLY a result of socialism.)

I felt your article was well written and easy to understand. The anecdotes instead of hard facts make it more personal and remind the reader that economic decisions have huge impacts and consequences for real people.

Also, it’s not like we’ve not had issues with economics in a capitalist system either. I could tell you stories about my maternal grandfather and shoes and my paternal grandfather having to share underwear with his brother during the Depression. The difference being that things have to fall pretty far into corruption to get to that point comparatively and as a representative govt form we have some agency as a means to course correct more efficiently and quickly so we don’t stay there long. Having to rely on the benevolent generosity of an out of touch ruling class is what gets you eating grass every couple of years. People should remember that because we’re in jeopardy of ending up right there. People need to open their eyes, educate themselves, and learn to think for themselves again before it’s too late. ::And stop being such overly emotional, irrational little butt boils IMHO::
