There's a pack of trolls who follow certain women writers or tags. You'll see them pop up in the comments over and over and over.

They'll do as you said, comment off the title alone without reading the article, or they'll scroll down and do that with a bolded paragraph or conclusion paragraph.

You can tell because they've almost always missed the point entirely or their angry comment is such a wild tangent off the main body of work it's just comical.

In the one hand, it's engagement so it gets you paid more and boosts your article.

On another hand, it's comical but if you've any mind to have a serious discussion, they tend to be a detractant and deterrent from that. Especially if you were hoping to hear from other, sane, more rational men in the comments. These guys are clowns. We all know it.

It can also be disheartening because they have a tendency to swarm and it's every fucking time you write. And that does seem to be the end goal.
