There is no security in the future. They know this. All the money saved in the world will not keep people from starving when there is no food. Or save them if and when they are trapped in fire or flood.

It is entirely hypocritical for older people to berste younger people for wanting to enjoy life some while it's still possible to do so.

After all, did we not party for decades by mortgaging their future? Are we not continuing to do so?

The sooner the rapaciousness of unfettered capitalism and the fallacious pursuit of never ending growth are brought to an end, the better the chances for more of them. If they have to party like it's 1999 to make help that happen sooner, so be it.
